CrockPot BBQ Chicken

The best BBQ Chicken I have ever had and it was done in a crock pot, forget about the totally Paleo part, everyone devoured that.  In the hopes of continually making the lives of Paleo families easier this is my attempt at a BBQ CrockPot chicken.  I love the whole set it and forget it and be ready to eat when I get home from work, plus its always a bonus to only having to wash one cooking dish.  Hope you enjoy.

  • 1 whole chicken, giblets removed and cleaned
  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp mustard powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry basil
  • 1/2 tsp dry rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  1. Rinse and pat dry your entire chicken inside and out with paper towels
  2. Line the bottom of your crock pot with the sliced onions
  3. Place the chicken in your crock pot on top of the onions
  4. Combine all remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix well
  5. Using your hands, rub this mixture over the entire chicken evenly, inside and out
  6. Place the lid on your crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours or until your chicken is done
  7. Serve with the side of your choice and Enjoy

  1. I just added potatoes to it in the crock pot…hope it does not ruin anything…this is the first time I have made…so I took potatoes…cut them into steak fry size…rolled them in the marinate mix..and put them between the chicken on top…fries…and onions on the bottom…I will keep my fingers crossed…..they it all turns out…thank you…
