Chocolate Bacon Brownies

Shockingly delicious bacon brownies that are totally Paleo and who would have thought.  So this dessert totally plays into my recent Pork kick.  I was going to just dip some bacon in chocolate but decided to do one better.  Here you end up with Chocolate Bacon Brownies which can easily be converted to a cake.  The process for this for me was a little long because instead of traditionally cooking the bacon, I baked it in 100% Pure Maple Syrup to try and really give it that sweetness to pair well with the saltiness of the Bacon.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I did, especially since I ate about 8 of them.

  3. Next blend in your two eggs

  1. I’m making this recipe now. The recipe says to add the chopped bacon to chocolate bits.
The chocolate bits are not on the list.
Do you add chocolate bits and if so how much.

  2. I’m trying to make these today. It mentioned to add chopped bacon to chocolate bits.
How much chocolate bits? It’s not on list

  3. Just made this, cooking as I write. The batter was very thick, had to mix by hand. Did anyone else find it overly thick?

  4. These came out really good, even my non-paleo but bacon loving fiancee approves. Taking them to my xfit Labor Day BBQ. Thanks so much!!

  5. I just drooled on my mac, seriously. This is so bloody brilliant that I must make these….right now! I’ll definitely come rate after I’ve made these little babies.

  6. Love this recipe! I have tried several variations but there was one I wanted to share. Instead of the almond butter I used homemade cashew butter(cashews and coconut oil) and left out the bacon and added mini non-dairy, gluten free, soy free chocolate chips. They were incredible!! I love this recipe as a base for my brownies. I have added blueberries and coffee and did make them with the bacon. SO yummy!

  7. I made this last night for my Hubby to share with his evaluator during his check ride (USAF flyer). The batter alone was AMAZING. I did have to tweak it because I didn’t have enough or all of the ingredients. Only a cup of Almond butter, cacao chips melted because I couldn’t find powder (don’t ask, its Nebraska), added half a cup of Shakeology to add back a bit of the dry ingredients, and almond milk instead of coconut. Okay so maybe I REALLY had to tweak it lol but it was still SOOO delicious. I had two squares this morning before I could finish boxing them up with the rest of his lunch! Definitely my go to brownies from now on!!!!

  8. I made these for my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. He’s mostly following the Paleo diet these days and I thought I’d try them out. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like these, and I only say that because I have a pretty vicious sweet tooth! He loved them too and I’ll be sure to make these again sometime. Thanks for the recipe!

  9. Just made these today and they turned out great. My kids love them. I am taking some to my crossfit class to share.Thank you so much. Yummo.

  10. My boyfriend is pretty into the Paleo thing right now so I thought I’d try making this recipe for him for Vday. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like these considering I have a vicious sweet tooth. Thanks for the recipe and I will be referring to your site again for more ideas!! The only thing I would do differently was not cook the whole package of bacon when the recipe only calls for 8 slices. I think I “sampled” a bit too much of it as a result.

  11. These were great. I don’t usually make paleo brownies, because I love the real thing so much that I am always disappointed. These passed my delicious test and I will definitely make them again. I did add enjoy life chocolate chips to the top to make them slightly more chocolatey for me.

  12. i drooled all over my keyboard… first from the chocolaty treat… then again from the pic of the tray of bacon. this will be my whole30 celebration meal!!! yumms

    1. I used canned. It’s pure coconut milk. No sugar or anything added. I think the refrigerated coconut milk has a lot of additives.

  13. Been waiting for my Whole 30 to end so I could have these… the batter alone is insanely incrediable! I was starting to think that none of it would make it into the pan to be baked. Had to make extra bacon to snack on.

    1. I would be curious if they are allergic to both of the egg white and yolk but thats another story. To be safe just take them out and double the coconut milk. You are going to get a different consistency but it should still work

  14. Hey man, I just wanted to let you know this recipe was amazing. 5 months ago I cut all grains and sugars completely. Lost weight. Then the mental switch flipped, I needed to change my way of eating completely. Recently went Paleo, and enjoying berries. I wanted to let you know this was the first thing I’ve had with any form of sugar/honey and it was absolutely incredible. Keep it coming.

  15. I made these last night for a food day at work today – they turned out wonderful! Though, I may have chopped up the bacon a little too fine – guess I’ll just have to try again!

  16. I made these tonight, sans bacon. Also reduced the agave to 3/4 cup. Sweet enough for me! Very good. My wife even loved them, and she's quite picky. :)

Next up is a walnut brownie recipe, since I bought 25 pounds of organic walnuts on eBay and need to use them up!

    1. I don’t see agave listed as an ingredient. Has the recipe changed? If I wanted to use agave would I swap it 1-1 for the honey?

  17. These were the BOMB! Kid approved, non-Paleo husband approved, and even unsuspecting guest approved. :D These are definitely my go-to fix!

  18. seriously think I need to try these… but, I'm allergic to coconut milk, do you think half & half or heavy cream would work instead?

  19. Thank you for coming by Primalprairiecupboard, I am so glad you enjoyed and you like my recipes, I will keep them coming :)

  20. Oh wow! I just ran out of cacao powder. As soon as I restock, this is the first thing I'm making! There is something magical about bacon and chocolate!!!

  21. I have a question. What does the little logo with the 5 cavemen towards the top of some of your recipes mean? Are they like stars? For example, this one would be a 3 star recipe. And are the stars telling me how paleo friendly the recipe is or how amazing the recipe actually tastes? This recipe was pretty delicious! Thanks.

  22. @Tacosontherooftop they are absolutely amazing, I brought them to work today to a bunch of Marines that live of fast food and they loved them, no one could figure out that secret ingredient of bacon it was awesome

  23. These were incredible. I suggest making mini muffins so you won't feel so guilty about eating 10 of them :)

  24. @Cari I am flattered at least I know I am doing something right :)

@P Gersch this is definitely the love child, they are so yummy
